The HTC Hero - A Real iPhone Competitor
A Look At The HTC Hero
Background
The HTC Hero cell phone is the Taiwanese tech business third phone fueled by Google's Android phone operating system, & the 1st to bundle its revolutionary Sense user interface, leaving Android a fresh lick of intuitive paint. Alongside the innovative software package, there is also a 3.2inch touchscreen, Megapixel camera~5MP digital camera, Wi-Fi, HSDPA, GPS, digital compass~digital compass, Wi-Fi, GPS, HSDPA, 5Megapixel camera} and a MicroSD memory card slot to provide additional memory.
What I Like
It's only been a few months since the HTC Magic, but the spring forth HTC's produced in the interim is tremendous. That's becase to the new Sense UI on top of Android. HTC's squeezed in lots more widgets to organize on your home screen - of which there are now seven, so you can slip between study and fun, and even have your Twitter stream flowing through. The capacitive touch screen on the Hero in the meantime is an total delight to use, and typewriting in either orientation is easy thanks to auto-correction for most often used words. On the exterior, the HTC Hero's teflon surfacing is nearly fully fingermark resistant, the electric battery goes the day and improving on the Magic, there's general 3.5mm sound for your own headphones. Huzzah!
The Negative
As sleek as the Hero feels, HTC could still make improvements to the hardware a bit more than. The photographic camera wants a flash, the trackball feels inexpensive, and that rim on the bottom juts out. While it feels nice in the hand, it's a real nuisance in your pocket. The Sense look in the meantime irons out a lot of kink's with Google Android OS, but video is still Android's soft spot. For a phone featuring Adobe Flash integration, film playback in several file type is worryingly choppy, and codec support somewhat hedged in comparisson to Samsung top of the range cell phones or even newer Blacberrys.
Summary
With the HTC Hero, Google's Android has in the end come of age. It's virtually the perfect smartphone bundle now, assisted no end by HTC's UI and solid and juicy design flooded with the latest hardware. iPhone, if you're listening, aftermost two long years, you've got a serious rival finally.
