Apple is playing with the idea of launching a “world phone” that can access the entire sim cards of all mobile networks.  AT&T is known to move slowly in its appointments and gives poor quality service to its subscribers. That is why Apple would not extend the exclusivity contract unless they see that AT&T’s customers will not complain anymore.

Is the iPhone sim card slot tray soon to be removed from the iPhone?As faster and better technology is being introduced, the iPhone’s sim card slot tray is in risk of being removed from the design of the iPhone.  Apple targets to make its iPhone reach out to more users and customers.To do so, Apple will be utilizing CDMA technology that will run even without a sim card.  If the network providers will be able to come up with this technology, expect the iPhone to be on different networks next year.  Only chips will identify one’s cell number.

Now this does not augur well for the mobile phone carriers because they will have competition and we will have the power of choice.  The benefits will be felt mostly by the customers and Apple’s sales of the iPhone.Issues on being too restricted on one network will lastly be addressed.
