Home Mobile Phone Repair Bristol

Ever dropped your mobile phone in the sink, or even worse… the toilet? Did you ever leave your mobile phone in your pocket and it has ended up in the washing machine? Did you ever swim with your mobile phone in your pocket? It usually means you have to replace your phone, but sometimes if you're fast, you can save the phone! It's not being wet that kills a mobile phone, it's being on and wet at the same time. This can short the circuitry out. If you're able to turn your phone off before it fries, you may well be able to resuscitate your drowned mobile phone!

Water damage is a nightmare when it comes to your warranty, but are there ways of reviving your phone? ? The answer is in your kitchen.

You then need to power off the mobile phone (if it’s not off already) as soon as possible and try to completely cover the mobile phone in a bowl of rice. Rice being a natural desiccant will help absorb the excess moisture. The type of rice, whether it is long grain, white, instant or whatever is irrelevant.24 hours is ample time for your mobile phone to dry.  Others have found placing the cell phone in a bag of Silica Gel to have the same benefit, provided the phone has completely dried out.

We suggest you then wipe off the mobile phone itself. This might seem kind of obvious, but it's an important step not to forget in your panic when your cell phone meets with a water accident.

If this seems an odd idea we would suggest just turning off the mobile phone, wiping it down, and then taking out the battery, sim card and memory card and leaving to dry separately.  If the battery is really wet, you can wipe off the battery and leave to dry or put in a separate bowl of uncooked rice.

Leaving the mobile phone in an airing cupboard for a week is another way of repairing water damage..  The longer you leave it to dry the more the likely it is to work again.

With care, a hairdyrer can be a great way to dry out your mobile phone. Just make sure it is on a low temperature setting. Careful not to overheat the phone.. Dry out the mobile phone for about ten to fifteen minutes. Allow the mobile phone to sit in a safe spot on a towel and finish drying for about another thirty minutes.
