Google Nexus One - Everything You Could Want From A Phone

The Google Nexus One smartphone was released a few months ago and has become the darling of the market in the eyes of many, especially smartphone users. Google designed the Nexus One. It operates on the Android 2.1 system and the HTC Mobile Manufacturer handles the production. The Nexus One has already been branded the top Android phone available on the market to date by those who have experienced its abilities. In some aspects, the Nexus One’s look is not altogether different than that of the iPhone. Google’s smartphone also has no physical keyboard, resulting in a slim design, slightly thinner than the iPhone. The dimensions of the Google Nexus One are 119mm x 59.8mm x 11.5mm. It is also a rather sturdy phone, even though it weighs only 130 grams. The capacitive touch screen displays graphics with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. On the bottom of the 3.7 inch AMOLED touch screen are found four buttons: back, menu, home, and search. You can find a trackball pointing device as well as voice controls on the left side. It sounds as though all of these features could easily become confusing, but the incredibly user-friendly control system found on the Nexus One will enable you to fully enjoy the phone in only a few hours. The phone uses the Android 2.1 operating system and runs off a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It contains all the standard features for connectivity - a 3G HSDPA and HSUPA and WiFi access via WLAN connections. As for data transfer between the phone and your other gadgets, it has microUSB and Bluetooth. Data transmission has never been easier. As for applications, the Google Nexus One includes a number of software features that make it a pleasure to use. Google Voice is a particularly useful application that has been incorporated. It allows you to use your Google Voice number for sending text messages and making outbound calls. Therefore, if you are a Google Voice user then you can actually make free calls from the phone. Text messaging and data entry is effortless on the Nexus One. Launched last year, Voice Keyboard is an application that enables the user to simply speak into a microphone to convert their words into text anywhere you find a text field on the Nexus One. The margin for error is also small, as Voice Keyboard has been rated at 90% accurate, making this application a significant time saver.

Google Nexus One - Everything You Could Want From A Phone

Ask anyone who has purchased a Google Nexus One and they will probably heap praise on their new device. There is no shortage of reasons why they gush over their recent buy.

Design - One of the first things you will notice on this terrific device is a large screen displayed prominently on the front. The phone is also quite thin, making for an unobtrusive little device. It is even thinner than an iPhone 3G. The sturdy weight provides a sense of high quality and durability.

Speed - Featuring the 1 GHZ Snapdragon processor, which is the best of its kind, the Nexus One transitions between pages without a problem. Orientation switches are smooth and videos and games are played without any difficulty.

Homescreen - Google has completely revamped the homescreen experience with its latest offering. It features five panes, updated widgets and a fast, common sense based navigation system. You can, for example, get news and weather updates, update your Facebook status, and play music all from your homescreen.

Camera - The incorporated 5 megapixel camera is really cool and takes great full color pictures. It has a powerful LED flash and a user-interface that allows you to easily fine tune your picture taking. The video camera can capture video up to 30 fps and is a joy to use.

Display - You would be hard pressed to find another cell phone with a touch screen display as wonderful as the Nexus One. Watching video on YouTube and other reaches of the internet show up in 3.7”, AMOLED quality. Playing games takes on a whole new level as well. Typing is also fast and easy on the large screen because you can actually see what you are doing.

Voice Input - In an outstanding move, Google has provided Android 2.1 with a speech-to-text option. What this means is that you can enter data verbally anywhere you can type on the Nexus One. It is a rather accurate feature and sending a quick text message has never been easier.

Making Calls - It is often easy to forget that today's cell phones are just that - phones - because they do so much more than simply make calls, so it is worth pointing out that the Nexus One is great to actually talk on. The main reason for this is that Google have incorporated two microphones into the phone - one for talking and one for noise cancellation.

If you are in the market for a new cell phone, the Google Nexus One is one of the best options available. You may find that your search will begin and end with this brilliant, beautiful device.
