Will T-Mobile And IPhone 4 Be A Match In 2010?
Apple may not be recalling the iPhone 4, but it certainly isn't really since the business is strapped for cash. PC Magazine reports that Apple's fiscal third quarter for 2010 was a great success, in no small part due to sales of the iPad. Apple made $ 3.25 billion net profit on revenue of $ 15.7 billion. Never one to rest on its laurels, Apple may be making more exciting news very soon. If the Cult of Mac's "highly placed source" is accurate, T-Mobile may begin selling the iPhone 4 by third quarter 2010. The team-up is 80 percent likely, writes PC World. Post resource - Will T-Mobile sell the iPhone 4 in third quarter 2010 by Personal Money Store.
iPhone 4 would make T-Mobile a heavyweight
Currently the fourth-largest carrier in the U.S., T-Mobile would certainly vault over AT & T, Verizon and Sprint if the iPhone 4 deal happens. According to PC World, there might be a major stumbling block concerning T-Mobile's 3G frequencies. T-Mobile uses a non-standard band, and iPhone 4 hasn't been tested on all the carrier's ranges.
Could simply be one more iPhone 4 rumor, you know
Considering Cult of Mac's overall track record with predictions, PC World may be right in reminding us not to lose our heads. Yes, T-Mobile may have the accessible bandwidth for the customer load, as they currently have fewer subscribers than AT & T or Verizon, and yes, T-Mobile isn't fighting with Steve Jobs. Since T-Mobile parent Deustche Telekom works with Apple already in Europe, T-Mobile could already be in Apple's good graces.
Is T-Mobile your next carrier of choice?
It should be noted that while T-Mobile may not have the network difficulties of an AT & T at this point, snaring iPhone 4 would likely change their set of circumstances quickly. Tech buyers and Apple fanboys love the iPhone 4, with or without Steve Jobs' special case for the antenna boo-boo. It more than competes against Droid and other U.S. smartphones. But possibly you see it differently; let us know.
