Jailbreaking The IPhone 4 Is Legal, And The Hack Is Now Accessible
Sunday, jailbreak for the iPhone 4 happened. Since the Apple App Store has initially been the only place to get applications, now iPhone 4 users can get them elsewhere. The iPhone 4 jailbreak allows a phone to download unapproved apps from unapproved app stores. An advantage of jailbreaking destined to become immensely popular is unlocking access to other networks than AT and T. Apple feels like jailbreaking the iPhone 4 "can severely degrade the experience".
Downloading the iPhone jailbreak
There is an app that can jailbreak less than a week after copyright officials said it was legal. The iPhone 4 jailbreak is at jailbreakme.com for individuals who want it. The hack for the iPhone 4 jailbreak means the Apple App Store isn't the only place people can download apps from anymore. The jailbreak can be received using an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with the Safari browser. This jailbreak is special since you can download it straight onto your iPhone instead of going to your computer first.
Legal jailbreaking makes Apple angry
Jailbreaking is legal for one reason and that is the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. As outlined by Info Week, U.S. Library of Congress (LOC) made it legal to jailbreak just last week after a claim the Digital Millennium Copyright Act was not being broken with what was happening. LOC's chief librarian wrote that cracking the iPhone is "innocuous at worst and beneficial at best." Apple doesn't believe that at all. Despite the fact that it is legal to jailbreak now, Apple explains it does void warranties.
Jailbreak makes iPhone/T-Mobile connection possible
The iPhone 4 jailbreak was so popular that jailbreakme.com could hardly stay online Sunday. The CNN article said once an iPhone has been jailbroken, one more set of apps could be used to unlock an iPhone to work on wireless networks other than AT and T, which is the only official U.S. carrier for the iPhone. There were some difficulties created making it so the iPhone 4 can't work on Verizon or Sprint with the jailbreak but will work on T-Mobile.
