There are many people who change their mobile phone often; I am one of these people. I have accumulated many mobile phones over the years as I tend to get a new one every six to twelve months. I thought about using my old phones as trade ins against the price of the new ones but I was always offered a price which was very low and just not worth it. This has meant that I just held on to them. I checked last week and found that I had eight mobile phones lying around the house; seven that I will never use again. This really seemed like such a waste so I was very interested when I came across an article explaining all about mobile phone recycling.

To be perfectly honest, I would prefer to donate a mobile phone then to get a pittance for it from a mobile phone shop. At least this way I won't feel cheated and it makes me feel good to think that I might be helping other people. I have heard that the mobile phones which are donated are sent to those in underprivileged parts of the world and I think this is a very good idea. The phones I have donated don't have anything wrong with them when it comes to functionality; I have just replaced them with newer models. Believe it or not I have actually donated an old model of the iPhone and this will probably go down a treat with whoever gets it.

Donating a mobile phone is really no hardship at all. If I had known about it I would have done it before now. And from now on I will be sure to continue doing this. I think it is better that someone else's gets to use these phones especially if I don't want them anymore. I get the benefit of clearing some junk from my home and also the chance to help somebody else; seems like a great deal to me. I would recommend to other people to do the same if they have some mobile phones lying around doing no good.
