How The Samsung Fascinate Measures Up To The Other Galaxy S Phones
Samsung has recently released the forth phone in their Galaxy S Android phone series, the Fascinate, and it is already turning heads. So what is it that makes the Samsung Fascinate so…fascinating?
Let’s start the comparison with the Samsung Fascinate and the Samsung Captivate. Price-wise, both phones cost around $200 with a contract. However, without a contract the Captivate costs $499.99 and the Fascinate runs $599.99 off contract-a $100 difference. However, the specifications creates a line between these two phones. The Captivate has 16 GB worth of memory. While the Fascinate also has 16GB worth of memory, you can always upgrade the standard memory card up to 32GB. The Captivate and the Fascinate have a 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen. Verizon supplements the Fascinate with their 3G network and a Wi-Fi hotspot while the Captivate is limited by AT&T's network. The Fascinate and the Captivate have a 5.0 Megapixel camera with 720p video recording and playback. However, the Captivate produces fuzzy images if the camera is zoomed in. Also, the menu buttons on the Captivate are unresponsive on occasion. Samsung Captivate and Samsung Fascinate Accessories include Bluetooth support. Both phones also lack a physical keyboard.
The Samsung Vibrant is supported by T-Mobile and has a price tag of $199.99 with a contract and $449.99 off contract. Between the Fascinate and the Vibrant, both have the same amount of memory storage, which is 16GB. However, the Vibrant does not offer the memory upgrade. Both the Vibrant and the Fascinate have a 4-inch screen, and both have a Super AMOLED touchscreen. The Vibrant does not have the ability to function as a Wi-Fi hotspot like the Fascinate does. Both phones have a 5.0 Megapixel camera as well as 720p video recording and playback. Samsung Vibrant and Samsung Fascinate cases come in various colors. Overall, the Vibrant and the Fascinate have many of the same features, but the Vibrant has a price tag that is $150 less off contract.
The Samsung Epic 4G is supported by Sprint. The major difference between the Fascinate and the Epic is that the Epic 4G is the only phone from the Galaxy series that still retains a physical keyboard, which many people still prefer. The Epic 4G has a Super AMOLED touchscreen just like the Fascinate. The Epic also has 16GB of storage. The Epic is also the only phone in the Galaxy series that does suffer from overheating problems like the other phones in the Galaxy series. However, unlike the Fascinate, the Epic does not have the ability to function as a Wi-Fi hotspot. Samsung Epic and Samsung Fascinate Chargers can be found in various styles.
Out of the four phones in Samsung's Galaxy S series, the Samsung Fascinate seems to be the best deal because of its ability to function as a Wi-Fi hotspot. Pick one up from your local retailer today.
