Android OS Trivia
If you keep up at all with news in the cellular world, you will know that, in terms of popularity, the Android OS is currently gaining on the Blackberry and the iPhone systems. This is partly due to the fact that the Android OS is used in a lot of different phones. It could also be because the Android system is always being worked on and upgraded so that it has finally started to be competitive against the other smart phones that are being sold. Unlike the iPhone and the Blackberry (the Android phone's major competitors), the Google phones are highly varied and come in many different styles with different levels of software extensiveness. Here are some great facts about the Android and Google phones that you might not yet know.
Did you know that people who use phones that run the Android OS (operating system) are less likely to pay for applications than users of the iPhone? We found a recent study that shows that half of all iPhone owners will pay for applications they can't find for zero cost. In contrast, the studies also show that only about twenty percent of the people who buy Android phones are okay with paying for applications. This is likely to change when the paid app section of Android's app market expands but for the time being, Android users are more financially responsible than people who use iPhones. It might seem overly competitive to brag about this, but Android users don't mind.
Enthusiasts for the brand make up a large part of the iPhone population. Apple computers has a loyal following that created huge demand for the iPhone. The number of Apple product consumers that make up the fan base is infinite. The number of Android OS users falls short of the number of Apple users. They will most likely choose a phone because of it's pricing or technology.
Without a doubt, iPhone users are so loyal to the product brand they will recommend it to others. Many Android users would not recommend their phones immediately to others.
According to recent studies, more men use Android OS phones than women do. Actually, it looks like men are simply more likely to use any sort of smart phones than women (though the study does not say why). The numbers are closer together when the iPhone is study. Men make up only a little bit more than half of the total users of iPhones. With the Android, however, almost three quarters of all Android OS users are male. We don't know why this is true. Perhaps this is because, in terms of new technology, men seem to be more likely to run out and spend money. The study does not say definitely why the numbers are the way they are. The great thing about the Android OS is that it is always changing and growing to be relevant in an ever changing market. Not all of the wireless OS creators can say that. If you stop and think about just how fast the cell phone market moves it should be very comforting to know that your cell phone maker wants to make sure that your phone is always useful. After all, being stuck with a cell phone that is obsolete is never any good. With all of the options that are available, which phone would you choose–the one you can afford that keeps up or the one you can't afford that will only be shiny pretty soon? Last but not least, if you ever need something besides cell phone service, VoIP is a great option. Don't forget to check out our detailed VOIPo review.
