Apple Inc. Patents Text Filtering Engineering To Stop Sexting

Tuesday morning, Apple, Inc. was awarded a patent on its new anti-sexting technology. The "anti-sexting" program is written in such a way it can read and filter text messaging. The newly patented technology has numerous applications. No word yet on if the tech will be included within the next iPhone.

Obtaining a patent on anti-sexting technology

Apple computers has been awarded a United States of America Patent on what the business is calling "anti-sexting" development. The program is written in such a way that it "reads" and takes action based on the "content and intent" of a message, instead of on unique words or phrases used. Apple says that this will work better than current tools accessible, because it's flexible enough to address multiple criteria. The technology is only intended for text messages and doesn't address images sent via the phone. There aren't any Apple goods with the technologies yet. They don't come with the patented technologies already installed.

More than just sexting is monitored with anti-sexting system

The anti-sexting product from Apple can do more than just control sexting, according to the patent application. Also, a certain number of a certain kind of text could be required to be sent with the program. It could also block messages with grammar and spelling errors from being sent. The system is really diverse in that it can make it so texting is supervised. Any criteria on texting could be set.

Text message control products on the industry

Text messaging could be limited and controlled by hundreds of applications and programs out there. Text messages stay private with TigerText which deletes them. One application turns off texting functionality if the Global Positioning System machine indicates it's going more than a certain number of miles per hour. Also, only certain phone numbers and people could be listed as those who could be texted, and then the program stops all other texts.

Sexting may be considered a privilege to some

The majority are concerned about something else other than the patent of anti-sexting that Apple has received. When does this become a bigger trouble? Are there privileges concerns? Some would say that children and teenagers need controls and limits on their communication and use of mobile technologies. It might end up making it so adults are getting their conversations recorded and watched though.
